The following ad ran in the New York Times recently in an attempt to promote Korean food around the world.
According to a Korean food blog on Korea.net, the cast and producers of the popular Korean TV show, Infinite Challenge, noticed a dearth in positive promotion of Korean food while shooting in New York City. “While shooting episodes on the globalization of Korean food in the middle of New York, we couldn’t help but notice how Korea and Korean food were badly lacking in image,” the blog quoted producer Kim Tae-ho as saying. To help alleviate that problem the crew and cast put forth the money to place the ad in the Times.
“The only way for foreigners to understand Korea without visiting the country is by experiencing Korean cuisine,” Seo Kyung-duk a PR expert said. “This is how we decided to plan our latest advertisement.”
